Message from the CEO
(J.zhang)Jingqing Zhang, President & CEO
Every year, hundreds of thousands of students graduate and take flight into society. Some are entrusted with big responsibilities right away; others struggle for years to work independently, quit soon after starting, or never quite manage to launch at all. What makes the difference?
Today, many Japanese companies are pressing ahead with globalization and overseas expansion. Yet we also hear from companies hesitating before that first step abroad. Again — what makes the difference?

Our Perspective
We turned our eyes to the potential of international students
These questions led us to focus on the success and potential of international students studying in Japan. About 30,000 international students graduate from Japanese universities every year. Six in ten hope to work at Japanese companies — yet only half of them succeed. Job hunting is harder for them than for Japanese students, and thriving after joining a company is harder still.
But when international students adapt well to Japan's distinctive job-hunting system and long-term-employment culture, and when Japanese organizations build the capacity to welcome diverse talent, both sides grow enormously. Our mission is to help make that happen: helping students form a firm resolve toward Japanese society, and helping Japan create workplaces where they can work with energy and joy.
